Temple of Fury: Slot Overview
Software provider Four Leaf Gaming has gone and designed Temple of Fury Dream Drop, an addition to Relax Gaming's rapidly growing range of progressive jackpot slots. A non-Dream Drop version of Temple of Fury is also available, and we will drop the appropriate stats as needed when referring to it. As well as having five progressive jackpots, with a potential top prize of up to €3 million, Temple of Fury fires off four Fury features and a couple of Four Leaf Gaming staples – Nitro Spins, the Super Spinner, and Fortune Coins.
Hope you've got your sword and sandals at the ready because Temple of Fury Dream Drop is a fantasy-themed slot set in a world of knights and chivalry, well, that sort of stuff. It's even got a dragon, and you'll want to see it as much as possible when playing the jackpot version of Temple of Fury because the dragon is used to reveal Dream Drop symbols during the Dream Drop Bonus phase. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Temple of Fury Dream Drop's base game takes place in a castle-type environment on a 5x3 gaming grid active with an extra reel on top, which begins in a locked state. Pretty much the whole game is played in this space, really, since Temple of Fury Dream Drop does not have a separate free spins round whisking players to another destination.
The jackpot version of Temple of Fury Dream Drop comes with an RTP of 94.1%, which is slightly higher than they usually are, while the non-DD version comes in at 95.21%. Utilising extra bits like Nitro Spins alters the RTP, and all values are clearly listed in the game info section for both games. Jackpot chasers should know that the greater the bet, the bigger the chance is of triggering a jackpot win where the options are 10 p/c to $/€100 per spin - up to $/€20 on the non-DD. Jackpots aside, winning potential is surprisingly low, as is volatility, for that matter, rated as 1 out of 5.
When 3 rows are active, players get 99 ways to win; though, when the fourth row is unlocked, this number increases to 178. When a win is created, the symbols involved lock in place, and a respin is awarded. Respins continue as long as the win is improved. When the win is no longer improved, the final payout is awarded. For low-value symbols, Temple of Fury Dream Drop has J-A card ranks, then four heraldic symbols depicting a dog (or wolf?), a deer, a lion, and a dragon as the high pays. Hitting a 5 OAK combo awards 1-1.2x the bet for the royals and 2 to 10 times the bet for the highs. Last but not least, the fiery W symbol is wild, replacing any other symbol.
Temple of Fury Dream Drop: Slot Features
If you're playing the Dream Drop version, then those five progressive jackpots are going to be the main event. However, other extras to be aware of are Fury features, Fortune Coins, the Super Spinner, and Nitro Spins.
Fury Features
On each spin, up to 4 Fury features can be randomly activated:
- Extra Row – an extra row is unlocked at the top of the grid, adding additional ways to win.
- Expand Wilds – any wild that lands on the grid will expand to cover the whole reel.
- Symbol Upgrade – one of the 4 low-pay symbols is randomly chosen, and all instances on the reels are upgraded to the corresponding high-pay symbol.
- Extra Life – an extra spin is awarded after no more winning symbols land.
Fortune Coins
Fortune Coins land randomly overlaid on regular low-pay symbols and are collected when they hit. Coins can be used to buy or reduce the cost of bonus features. They can be collected and spent across all Four Leaf Gaming games.
Super Spinner
Whenever a Fortune Coin overlay is collected, the Super Spinner may trigger. Changing bets updates the coins collected relative to the bet. When triggered, the Super Spinner spins to award either a cash prize of 60x up to 500x the bet or 5, 10, 15, or 25 Nitro Spins. The Super Spinner can be activated with 500 coins.
Nitro Spins
When Nitro Spins are enabled, they guarantee at least 1 feature on each spin, coins are collected more frequently, and the Super Spinner triggers more often. Nitro Spins increase the bet by 50% or cost 4 coins per spin.
Dream Drop
The Dream Drop Jackpot Spin may trigger randomly before a normal spin. One spin occurs on a 5x3 grid where only DD symbols may land. Should 5 of them hit, players move to the Dream Drop Bonus. The Dream Drop Bonus has 5 reels, one for each jackpot. Crates fall onto the grid, and the dragon randomly burns them to reveal Dream Drop symbols. The first reel to fill with Dream Drop symbols awards the corresponding jackpot. This could be the Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major, or Mega with starting values of €1, €5, €100, €25,000, or €500,000, respectively.
Temple of Fury Dream Drop: Slot Verdict
This isn't Four Leaf Gaming's first Dream Drop slot; previously, the studio released Dueling Jokers Dream Drop, and the two games could hardly be any more different. Where one was a 1970s boppin' disco party, this one is a fantasy hack-and-slash with a fire-breathing dragon. Dream Drop games, and slots in general, are a diverse bunch, and Four Leaf Gaming has rolled out something different to others in the DD lineup.
However, while Four Leaf Gaming has helpfully supplied a bit of variety to the Dream Drop market, Temple of Fury Dream Drop's positives largely ease up there. The rest of the game struggled to stoke much of a warm campfire, let alone pour forth a raging blast of dragon fire. Sticky win respins do their thing but result in slow-paced gaming, and there are the four Fury Features also doing their thing, yet it may get a bit repetitive after a while with no real destination on the horizon to aim for. Aside from the Dream Drop, of course, that might be enough for some keyboard knights to keep battling away for. Non-jackpot top prizes aren't hugely exciting, though, topping out with the 500x from the Super Spinner, or should the grid expand and be filled with the dragon premium, a 1,780x win is coming your way.
Admittedly, they wouldn't be the worst outcomes to occur, but when weighing up everything else Temple of Fury had to offer, the whole thing came across strangely light. Aside from having a crack at progressive jackpots in a fantasy environment, it was hard to get overly fired up about the rest of Temple of Fury, especially the non-jackpot version.
Fair
Temple of Fury provides a crisp fantasy environment for Dream Drop to operate in but is fairly light outside the progressive jackpots.
